Founding directors, Richard and Karen were ordained to the Gospel ministry in 1972. Since that time, they have been involved in a variety of ministries in the local church. Richard has served as a mentor to young men and boys through various programs in the local church. He has served as youth leader, evangelist, associate pastor, and Pastor. His vocation has always been ministry. He has worked as a police officer and as a funeral director assisting families during their time of grief.

Richard and Karen are currently involved is several aspects of community service. Richard serves as the Chaplain for the local law enforcement and public safety agencies. In that capacity, he delivers death notifications to the families of people who die unattended deaths and again is able to mentor young officers to become the kind of role model each community needs. He is available 24/7 to minister to the people of his community as a resource for spiritual guidance as well as the practical aspects of grief counseling. He ministers in churches as well as speaks at civic groups and family events.

Karen uses her talents of hospitality and serving to assist Richard in the ministry. Karen has been a very capable and loving helpmate to all the things that Richard is involved in. Her current ministry is supportive of him as well as ministering in music in the local churches. She has been a mentor and teacher to young girls through the various programs of the church.

Life Springs is a springboard for the ministry of helping the hungry, homeless and disenfranchised. The people of Life Springs have a passion for helping those who are less fortunate and those who are thrust into emergency situations requiring immediate help. Life Springs Ministries was incorporated in 1999 as a 501 (c) 3 Charitable Organization with the help and encouragement of some good friends, Jim and Dixie Ratzlaff of Sulphur Springs, Texas.

Life Springs is actively pursuing areas of involvement in Romania and Mexico. Each week, ministry to the hopeless and helpless occurs.
